Captain Redeye Dive Services is in my opinion one of the best. He asked what my issue was and gave me a price which was very fair. He gave me a time that he would be at my boat and he arrived on time. Captain Matt is very pleasant to work with and truly a professional. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

Matt is incredible! He rescued a phone that was in 25+ ft in water in less than a minute. He was very responsive and eager to help. We will be keeping Matt on speed dial. Highly recommend anyone to use Captain Redeye. Thank you so much (again!)

Matt was extremely responsive and prompt when arranging his services. When he was completed, he provided a detailed debrief of the services he performed. I look forward to using him again with our busy charter yacht.

Awesome company to work with! Capt. Matt answered my call and was able to assist me very early in the morning like at 4 am jumping into the cold water and taking out rope in my wheels. He was on time and had all the necessary equipment needed to do the job. He even checked the strainers while he was down there! Thank you very much Capt. Matt for helping me out!

I contacted Matt and he returned my phone call in less than 10 minutes, and arrived the same day within a few hours of calling. My Burberry clutch, car keys, and a few other personal items were sitting at the bottom of a harbor/dock for almost 24 hours. Matthew successfully retrieved them in 5 minutes after checking the general location! I strongly recommend his recovery services!! Thank you again!

I had Matt come out to fix a leak in my pool. Price was reasonable. Service was phenomenal. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Experienced in Underwater Searches

When something goes overboard, time matters, because current and sediment shift and bury items quickly. Our experience with low visibility harbor water is what brings lost gear back.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I call for search and recovery?

Call as soon as something is lost: a phone or keys off the dock, an anchor that would not come up, electronics or gear dropped during a transfer, or equipment lost overboard underway. The sooner you reach out, the better the odds, because current, boat traffic, and shifting sediment can move or bury an item within hours in active water.

How does the recovery process work?

We start with what you can tell us: roughly where and when the item was lost, and any wind or current at the time. We plan a search grid from that last known spot and work the area in overlapping passes, relying on touch and method in low visibility. While we are down, we can also take care of boat maintenance or an underwater inspection if you need it. Once located, we bring the item up in the same condition it went down.

What affects the cost of a recovery dive?

The main factors are the size of the search area, water depth, visibility, bottom conditions, and how much detail you can give on where the item was lost. A tightly located drop is quicker than an open search. For heavier items, lift and retrieval add to the work. For your situation, get a free quote here.

What information helps you find a lost item?

The approximate location, what the item looks like, when it was lost, and whether there was wind or current at the time all help. Landmarks like a specific dock, piling, or mooring narrow the search area, and if the item was tied to ground tackle we can check it with an underwater inspection once it is up. The more detail you can give about that last known spot, the tighter and faster the search pattern, which improves the chance of a quick recovery.

How long does a recovery search take?

It depends on the size of the area, water clarity, and bottom conditions. Some recoveries happen within the hour when the location is well known, while larger or deeper searches in murky water take several hours. If a recovered item or the search turns up damage, we can follow with underwater repair, and we also offer pool leak detection for homeowners. We work methodically rather than rushing, since careful coverage is what finds items that a quick look would miss.
